Homemade Deodorant

With the weather being so hot Miss A has been sweating big time, and I wanted a deodorant which is safe for her to use. I was not too keen on store bought ones. When I was blog hopping I happened to find this amazing blog called soapaholicsanonymous. She has an excellent tutorial on how to make homemade deodorant with pictures. Check it out.

I just tweaked the recipe a little and added half Coconut and half Aloe Vera butter. I added about 15 drops of Bladderwrack Natural EO blend (A combo of Grapefruit, Cedarwood, Geranium, Oakmoss) bought from wholesalesuppliesplus.com and it smells sooo good.

Hand Milled Soap Aka Rebatching...

I have been dying to make soap for the past many months, but read somewhere that inhaling lye is very harmful during pregnancy (aww...)

Two, when I was just going through all my soaping supplies I found a big block of unscented cold processed soap that I made earlier and completely forgot about it. Yay!! The next thing that crossed my mind is rebatching.

I quickly grated the soap cooked it on a double boiler added some Sweet grass FO I got as a sample from Brambleberry.com when I bought some supplies from them last time. I also added crushed Calendula petals and some Almond meal. Just unmolded the soap this morning and it smells delicious.

Learning: Always use simple mold patterns for rebatching (log mold is the best). I had a really hard time getting the soap out of the mold. I had to keep it refrigerated the whole night to finally get them out, and I couldn’t really avoid some dings on the soap.
