As part of my course we were asked to make something to wear using Recycled items.
I made a belt with an old corduroy pant and toothpicks. I glued the toothpicks and decorated it with ribbon embroidery and mirror work, and sandwiched it between clear vinyl.
The biggest challenge was sewing the vinyl on my sewing machine, which I tried for about 6-7 hours, and finally gave up trying, and hand-sewed the whole thing.
I love this belt and enjoyed everybit of the making process. :)
Hey this looks very cool and hip girl :) Way to go!
ReplyDeleteJust found your sight, my daughter is a fashion major here in Tennessee and for her runway show this spring, she is doing all "green" designs. Everything is from recyclable stuff. Her teacher just did a little write up about her line in their newsletter. Very cool belt.
